MLB Still Not Convinced Getting Hit In The Face By A Line Drive Is Really That Dangerous

The MLB is in quite the pickle following the Astros Vs. Cubs game last Wednesday night in Houston. A 2-year old little girl was taken to the hospital after being struck with a line drive.

Current commissioner Rob Manfred is currently pondering the idea of taking down all protective netting to increase the amount of crowd casualties. In a desperate attempt to boost ratings, he sees this as a 'unique opportunity'. When asked for further comment the commissioner explained,

“Listen, knowing you could die at any moment is a key part of the whole ballpark experience. We don’t want to do anything to get in the way of that.”

When asked about possibly putting up protective nets the commissioner said,

“There’s really no need for that. What’s the worst that could happen? Plus, the younger the better. Our population is getting a little overcrowded anyway".

Manfred clearly didn't understand the importance of the press conference he was leading, or that he'd made it into more of a political issue. Outfielder Albert Almora Jr. (who hit the ball) was visibly shaken by the scenario, but did have room for comment.

"Talk shit, get hit."

Manfred's protective netting increase would definitely make for one thing.. Baseball wouldn't be boring anymore!
